Service Engineer, Install Lead

A Service Engineer, Install Lead on the Southern team contributes to the success of Hartwig by providing a superior customer experience through performing machine tool installations as well as provide leadership for the personal growth and development of assigned Service Engineers based out of the Houston office.

Main responsibilities of this position include:

• Leads development of assigned Service Engineer's technical skills for optimum customer experience and efficiency
• Creates and executes Ignition Plans and annual Roadmaps for department team members, collaborating with them to develop target goals
• Performs installations of new or used CNC machines along with appropriate options and accessories
• Assists with customer relocation of machines
• Performs preparation work on the installation of advanced CNC machines
• Coordinates schedules with Buying Experience Specialist or Service Manager
• Consults with other team members, internal departments and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to machine installation
• Accurately documents and reports required information for work records and reports
• Achieves goals and metrics established for machine installation Service Engineers based on territory
• Keeps up-to-date, accurate FieldPoint records and lists all parts used on each case and updates customer information including machine information, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and contacts
• Performs and maintains accurate service vehicle inventory counts for MSP group
• Improves product knowledge by attending vendor training on new products
• Shares knowledge by hosting training sessions or presenting to team
• Submits time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner
• Travels to customer sites on a regular basis with occasional overnight travel required
• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

The Skills

Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:

• Formal education or training in troubleshooting, repair and installation of CNC machines
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Experience in performing CNC machine installations
• Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction
• Excellent attention to detail and follow through
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Professionalism and ability to build long-term relationships with team members, customers and suppliers
• Demonstrated self-starter with effective planning and organization skills
• Ability to use PC and job-related software
• Good driving record and valid driver's license to ensure continued fleet vehicle insurability.
