Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager contributes to the success of Hartwig by helping to optimize the daily operation of selected sales engineers in achieving company objectives including bookings forecast, market share and opportunity generation.

Main responsibilities of this full-time position based in either the Houston or Dallas office include:

  • Help optimize the daily operation of selected sales engineers in achieving company objectives including bookings forecast, market share and opportunity generation
  • Facilitate the progress and development of selected sales engineers by participating in ride alongs, territory management, call planning, etc.
  • Assist Regional Presidents with team growth and development functions which include coaching, mentoring, training, performance reviews, and help identify goals and objectives based on individual sales engineer needs
  • Work with selected sales engineers on a monthly basis to analyze USMTO, UCC and other territory data
  • Develop and train on various go to market strategies
  • Assist marketing with identifying marketing needs and development of messaging for target audiences
  • Liaison with Builder's to manage requests for scheduled time/visits and utilize resources to capture business
  • Continually pursue personal growth opportunities, which includes training, classes, reading and being current with industry best practices and determine what and how to share with the sales engineers
  • Regular travel to regional offices and remote sales engineer locations, open houses and trade shows required

The Skills

Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years sales experience in the manufacturing sector, machine tool/industry
  • Must have a strong mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Must have strong negotiation and persuasion skills and demonstrated problem solving and decision-making
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer relationship building skills
  • Experience in project management and time management
  • Experience and application of basic computer skills including sales software such as CRM, Word and Excel
  • Must have strong initiative, team work, competitive nature and goal orientation
  • Must have excellent attention
