Hartwig currently has an opportunity available for a Payroll Specialist in our St. Louis, Missouri office. Taking care of our people is important at Hartwig. Part of that includes providing accurate and timely processing of payroll. This position is responsible for the administration of payroll ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

A day in the life of a Hartwig Payroll Specialist:

  • Maintain accurate payroll system and processes to include payroll accounting, transactions, reporting, and all other related operations.
  • Accurately and timely process payroll in ADP software and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Manage system data to include new hire, compensation, deductions, bonus, PTO, and 401(K) deferrals and terminations. Process garnishments, levies and child support requests.
  • Create and compile reports to include compensation increases, bonus calculations, mileage reimbursement taxation, commissions and additional year end process reports.
  • Process quarterly tax filing and reconcile to the general ledger.
  • Respond to team member inquires, providing Best in Class service in a confidential manner.
  • Accurate and timely payment of benefit invoices; reconciliation of benefit invoices, COBRA payments and 401(K) contributions to the general ledger.
  • Transmit 401(K) deferrals and employer match.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TO JOIN THE HARTWIG TEAM YOU SHOULD MEET THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years previous work experience in payroll administration.
  • Previous experience with ADP payroll software.
  • Understanding of a double entry system of accounting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and organized.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment using sounds judgement and ability to identify and address workplace issues in a confidential manner.
