The Job

An Engineering Services team member contributes to the success of Hartwig, and its customers, by working hand-in-hand with our Sales team to provide turnkey solutions and be a technical resource to ensure customer satisfaction. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on the Hartwig team to provide the best manufacturing solutions and support to the machine tool industry. This full-time position based in the St. Louis office, supports Eastern Missouri, Iowa, and Southern IL. The main responsibilities include:

• Evaluating manufacturing processes and recommending industry-leading solutions.
• Performing time studies for process improvement recommendations.
• Creating machine processes and implementing them on machine tools. This can include but not limited to:
  • Programming
  • Data collection
  • Workholding solutions
  • Tooling solutions
  • Peripheral device integration
• Performing machine run-offs at Hartwig and customer locations.

The Skills – The ideal candidate for this role has machine shop experience or high familiarity with CNC machines and wants to take the next step in that area.

• 5 years machining or machine shop experience required
• Experienced in CNC programming; Okuma machine programming experience preferred
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• Two year degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent preferred
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and application of machine tool products, options and functions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with team to provide customer solutions
• Basic familiarity of Microsoft's Office products.
