CNC Field Service Technician

Objective: To understand and engage with the connection The Hartwig Way and a Service Engineer's duties in an effort to provide a superior customer experience through the troubleshooting and repair of machine tools.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform down machine, warranty and traditional repair work on CNC machines
  • Communicate to customer regularly on status of machine and associated parts
  • Support vendor and Hartwig shows and open houses
  • Train and instruct customers and peers on proper service and repair procedures for machines
  • Consult with other team members, internal departments, and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to machine repair
  • Accurately document and report required information for work records and reports
  • Achieve goals and metrics established for Repair Service Engineers
    • Review billable hour target to plan monthly
    • Seek new sources of billable hours revenue
  • FieldPoint Maintenance
    • Keep all cases current and accurate
    • List all parts used on every case
    • Help keep customer information accurate: machine information, addresses, phone numbers, contacts
  • Perform and maintain accurate service vehicle inventory count for MSP group
  • Improve product knowledge
    • Attend vendor training on new products
    • Host training sessions or present to the team to share knowledge
  • Submit time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Two year degree in manufacturing or work experience equivalent.
  • Previous experience setting up, testing, and adjusting manufacturing equipment, using any combination of electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computer technologies.
  • Strong mechanical or electrical trouble shooting and repair experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, vendors and suppliers
  • Demonstrated self-starter and effective planning and organization skills
  • Ability to use PC and job related software
  • Occasional travel required
