Application Engineer STI

The Job

A CNC Machine Tool Application Engineer contributes to the success of Hartwig, and its customers, by working hand-in-hand with our Sales team to provide support and be a technical resource to ensure customer satisfaction. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on the Hartwig team to provide the best manufacturing solutions and support to the machine tool industry. This full-time position is based in the St. Louis office, and supports Eastern Missouri and Iowa, and Southern IL. The main responsibilities include:

• Evaluating manufacturing processes and recommending industry-leading solutions
• Performing time studies for process improvement recommendations
• Performing on-site machine operation training for customers
• Teaching programming classes in Hartwig's St. Louis location and various other locations in our region.
• Performing customer demonstrations by setting up and programming machine tools

The Skills – The ideal candidate for this role has machine shop experience or high familiarity with CNC machines and wants to take the next step in their career.

• 3 years machining or machine shop experience required
• Experienced in CNC programming; Okuma machine programming experience preferred
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• Two year degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent preferred
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and application of machine tool products, options and functions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with sales team to provide customer solutions
• Basic familiarity of Microsoft's Office products.
