Accounts Payable Coordinator

The Job

An Accounts Payable Coordinator contributes to the success of Hartwig and its related subsidiaries through working with team members and vendors to efficiently maintain and process all accounts payable transactions. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on the Hartwig team to repair, inspect and troubleshoot their machine tool equipment. In addition to standard A/P responsibilities, main responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining vendor files including submission of 1099s to the IRS, W-9s, etc.
  • Properly coding and entering of invoices into the accounting software
  • Compiling required annual use tax reports
  • Reviewing and approving team member expense reports
  • Processing regularly scheduled check runs
  • Running reports and reviewing and balancing accounts for month-end closings
  • Issuing sales tax exemption certificates to vendors

The Skills

Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum three years accounts payable and general accounting experience
  • Proven numerical, problem solving and decision making ability
  • Experience with accounting software (MS Dynamics GP ideal) and AP Automation software
  • Understanding of use tax filing and regulations
  • Consistent attention to detail and follow through with ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills such as collaboration, listening, respect and work ethic, which lead to lasting and trusting relationships with team members and customers
